The Providence Journal includes Democratic candidate for Mayor, Brett Smiley, in an article article about vaccine mandates.

Smiley, who was former Gov. Gina Raimondo’s chief of staff and director of administration, said if he¬†were mayor he would require vaccination of city workers and would¬†recommend the governor do the same thing at the state level.

“Given the efficacy of the vaccines and the threat from the Delta variant, I would require all city employees to be vaccinated for their safety and the safety of those the city serves. Of course there would be narrow exceptions for religious or medical reasons and if it were to be determined to be subject to collective bargaining, I would bargain with our unions to get all of their members vaccinated.”
